Habemus Papam - We have a pope!
Pope Leo XVI
Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost elected 267th Pope on May 8th, 2025.
He is the first pope from the United States!

May God bless and guide our new holy father:
Oh God, eternal shepherd, who govern your flock with unfailing care, grant in your boundless, fatherly love, that Pope Leo XIV will please you by his holiness, and to us show watchful care. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen

- Biography of Pope Leo XIV
- An interview with Pope Leo's older brother, where he states that a childhood neighbor predicted his brother Robert would be the first American pope

Robert Prevost (Pope Leo XIV) is former Bishop of Fr. Jose Cabrera's home diocese in Peru, Chiclayo.
Originally an Augustinian Priest from Chicago. He became a missionary all over the world even in Peru.
He was General superior of the Augustinian Order.
A missionary at heart! He spent several decades serving in Peru!
He gave the sacrament of Confirmation to Fr. Cabrera's nephew, Eduardo Andre, during the pandemic.
He has dual citizenship like Fr. Jose - American and Peruvian.
